Abdulmagied Ahmed Seddiqi Dubai, United Arab Emirates — The UAE’s luxury retail and horology community is mourning the loss of Abdulmagied Ahmed Seddiqi, co-owner and senior leader of Seddiqi Holding, the family-owned company that oversees the region’s foremost luxury watch and jewellery retailer, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. His passing was announced by his family, who shared their deep sorrow and prayed for his peace.
Abdulmagied played a key role in shaping the modern luxury retail landscape of the UAE, helping guide the company as it expanded from its origins into one of the Middle East’s most respected purveyors of high-end timepieces and jewellery. Under his leadership, the group maintained strong, long-standing partnerships with some of the world’s most prestigious Swiss watchmakers and continued the family legacy of excellence in retail. Seddiqi Holding — established in 2007 to unite the family’s diverse luxury interests — includes not only Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons but also Swiss Watch Services, Mizzen, and Seddiqi Properties, reflecting the breadth of the group’s influence.
Born into a family whose retail history began with a single shop in Dubai’s Bur Dubai souk in 1950, Abdulmagied carried forward a tradition of entrepreneurship, integrity, and service, helping transform Seddiqi into a multi-brand luxury powerhouse with a presence that contributed to Dubai’s reputation as a global destination for luxury shopping.
He was also a devoted father to his sons Mohammed, Hassan, Ahmed, and Mansour Seddiqi, and beloved brother to Abdul Hamied Ahmed Seddiqi, who announced his passing.
